New Cessna T206 « Thread Started on Aug 7, 2009, 12:52am »
Hello Ladies and gentlemen, girls and boys,
The longest repeated request we have had was to carry a beginner aircraft that is of good value, easy to see, good looking, forgiving and ,most importantly, flies properly. We have search high and low, far and wide, it was more chanllenging than initially expected. We have since defined a good trainer plane to have a few more quality than what was mentioned above.
A good trainer in our view, must be easy to put together with few tools. Riggings and adjustments of flight controls must be simple and straight fwd. The plane must be forgiving, doesnt go overspeed or stall easily, even if it does get into one, recovery must be easy straight forward and with minimum height lost. As far as the finishing, the colour must be prominent and apparent helping orientation in all weather condition. A good trainer should also have a good set of undercarriage paving the way to circuit training, touch-and-gos and dead stick landing. Finally the most important of all, the plane needs to have good inherent stability, it must be able to, more or less, fly itself or, even better, recover and correct itself with no input from the pilot. The more obvious attributes includes good powerplant, beautiful lines and transpotability.
After more than a year of testing and looking, we have finally found a plane that fulfills all the requirement stated above.
We are proud to introduce the Cessna T206. This airplane flies well and lands well. Built with a carbon spar in the wings, it is rather aerobatic and can take high G loading better than most trainers. It wide track undercarriage gives it good stability for cross wing TOs and Landings. In our opinion, this is the ultimate first plane to get to enjoy and learn the art of RC flight.
